Vaavud Wind Meter App Reviews

My family and I are very active in the outdoors. I got the Vaavud wind meter a few months ago, and have used it regularly on high altitude hikes in the alps. I recently also used it at a popular local paragliding site to check wind conditions. GREAT product for outdoor activities and fun!!!

Ok this is new review since 1st one I gave was 2 stars. Yes now that the app works so far its the product I figured it could be GREAT. EVEN tho the volume kinks should have been worked out before releasing product. Vaavud did take my advice and put why it wasnt working on their web page. Thank u for that. This way you dont have people like me freeking out cause I think mine is broken. Now it works since new update and its a fine piece of equipment. And vaavud did get back to me everytime. Thanks customer service. Now Im Happy and will buy many many more!!

Awesome app! Its easy to use after you get the meter, and it never lets me down! Its cool to no how fast to know what the wind is, and fun to show your friends and family! Awesome app, product, and company!

My app doesnt not recognize the Sleipnir being connected, I thought maybe I needed to do an updated by Im running the newest app and most current iOS. Emailed customer support 2 weeks ago and still havent received a reply. Basically paid $60 for nothing. Wanted this to work so bad, Customer Service PLEASE CONTACT ME BACK!!!

I just want to use a cool wind meter. The app now makes you create an account and log on. I have no interest in being part of a wind community.

Now I have to sign into the app to use it. Where does it say that in the version description? I dont want to join a wind community! I just want a wind meter. Why does everything have to be big data? I would not install this release again.

I bought a tool to use, dont need to share data. Upgrade broke the ability to independently use hardware that was paid for. Stupid.

Ive enjoyed both versions of vaavud wind meters, but am a bit disappointed in the development of the application. While the interactive map is much easier to navigate, vaavud got rid of the best feature of the app. This feature was a graph of your wind reading. Now, you can see the average speed, max speed, and direction. 2/15/2016 - Cannot use the app. Upon sign in with vaavud account, app crashes. Upon sign in with facebook, cannot exit login screen. App support button on app store is a dead link.

Great tool, but I would like to be able to see wind readings even without being signed into the app. Took it to the shooting range and did not have enough cellular service to get logged into the app. Would have been nice to open the app and have a manual wind reading! How they can fix this issue. I sent an email from website to Vaavud, but havent received a reply back yet... Fingers crossed!

Does App Store suppress negative reviews? I want Vaavud to refund the $50 I spent on their appliance since I can no longer use it to find wind speed. I dont have time to jack around with logging into an app when I need to know the wind speed, just so Vaavud can do social networking games. When I need to know wind speed, Im sailing offshore out of range of the Internet - not the time to be told "you have to sign in so we can provide advanced features". I could care less about "advanced features"! I need to know the speed of the wind. I dont need access to the Internet to find that out. The Vaavud appliance is useless without the app and, at this point, without access to the Internet. What naive product manager approved that brilliant concept? I want my money back...

When I bought the this wind meter last year it was great. Im sailing on the lake today the wind picks up and I could not use the meter because I have to sign in to some sort of social media just to get the wind speed. It tends to be very busy on a sailboat when it gets breezy. This device is now useless. If your a social bunny you will be very pleased with it.
